I'm a certified group exercise intructor specializing in teaching prenatal, postnatal, family fitness, dance and yoga, especially to individuals who have the desire to start a family but don't want to sacrifice their personal well-being. I am a mother of 2 energetic and lovable boys! I know the struggle is real. Prenatal classes are hard to find, and it's even harder to take "regular" fitness classes and modify nearly every move for your growing belly. Not to mention the enormous benefits of working out alongside your little ones! After I woke up from my new-mom-coma, I decided to do something about it. I completed my written and practical exams to become certified through AFAA (The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), the world's largest fitness and TeleFitness® educator. I completed my written and practical exams to become certified in CPR and AED by the American Heart Association. And I continue to accumulate relevant certifications to bring unique fitness classes your whole family will enjoy and see results from!
I'm not new to teaching fitness. I've taught yoga, Pilates and various dance classes since 2006 at different studios and gyms. I'm ready to get moving, take on this new chapter of my life and help others do the same!
Why take these classes?
A woman's body goes through so many changes once she becomes pregnant, and if she's not prepared or doesn't know what to expect, her workouts will undoubtedly take a backseat making pregnancy, labor and recovery all that more difficult. I like to help women achieve their fitness goals not only during pregnancy, but before and after as well.
A Northwestern University study found that dads typically gain weight after having kids, too! #dadbod. Anywhere from 3.3 to 4.4lb is common which increases his BMI and can lead to heart disease. A parent's time is precious. That's why it's so important for us to make working out part of our daily routine and something fun that we can enjoy with the whole family!
